About Us

Inspire Trails is run by Jordan — a well travelled horse trainer who has lived and trained horses all around the world, including Texas, Africa and Europe.

Jordan’s passion has always been working with troubled horses, and helping people understand their horse and create a bond between them. Having been a guide and wrangler on horseback safari tours in Africa inspired her to create Inspire Trails — a platform from which she can rescue horses, train them to be ridden, and have guests enjoy them as much as she does – giving the horses a new lease on life.

Jordan has been living in Canada since 2017, met her husband Steffyn in 2018. They now have a baby named Henry (future cowboy).

“We at Inspire are dedicated to ensuring our guests have the most fun, authentic and unique riding experience. By putting our hearts and souls into our work, we guarantee a safe, enjoyable ride that will change your idea of what a horseback ride should be.”

-Jordan

Meet our Horses

Come meet our permanent residents at Inspire Trails! We also offer a trail program in which other horses will join us for one season then go home for the winter. These horses come in for either further training or experience. If you would like to inquire about your horse joining the Inspire team for a season, please contact us!

AN AMAZING ADVENTURE

OUR TRAIL RIDES

Ride your Dreams

Join us for a horseback ride through the beautiful trails of the Thompson-Nicola, near Kamloops and Merritt. Our rides are available every morning and afternoon. Times may vary depending on weather, though we will work with you to ensure a safe travel time for the group.

All of our trails have breath taking scenery, and on our ride we are likely to see eagles, beavers, black bear, moose, white tail deer, mule deer, raccoons, marmots, and much more. Our guides are very experienced in sharing with you our beautiful Valley. If you have any questions about any of our rides please do not hesitate to contact us.

Lazy River Trail

Up to 1 hour | $105 per person

This trail will take you right along the river where we may spot some otters and beavers swimming. We will then cross this river and move towards the forest with the river sounds still beside us. You will notice different tree species along the way. Please look closely for our residents’ great horned owls and if we’re really lucky the great grey owl. Once we pass through the forest we will come back out into the open and cross another creek. When the horses’ toes are wet again we will head back up to the barn where we started. We see Moose regularly so keep your eyes peeled!

This trail is very beginner-friendly and will give you an amazing taste of riding horses through the wilderness.

Mud Lake Trail

Up to 90 minutes | $125 per person

We start on a nice open trail, looking across the lake and the wildlife that resides here while listening to the call of the resident bald eagles. As we cross to the other side passing by the our resident eagle’s favourite perch we wind into the forest then up and out onto the open hillside. Along this higher trail you can take in the surrounding mountain views before we drop back down into the trees, over a creek, a bridge and out into the open again.

This trail is very beginner friendly and will give you an amazing taste of riding horses through the wilderness.

Two Lake Trail

Up to 2.5 hours | $165 per person

The two lake trail takes you around two scenic lakes in the area.

An easy trail alongside the two lakes allows you to appreciate the beauty of the lakes and its wildlife. As we cross the water at the end of the second lake we start to wind up and onto the hillside. From the top of this trail we come out above the trees and catch sight of the stunning view back over the lake. We carry on along this higher trail in the clearing and occasionally are lucky enough to spot moose along the tree line or in the creek. Finally we cut back down into the trees and ride through the winding forest trail that comes back out between the two lakes with another view back towards the resort. The wildlife are hot on this trail, so be sure to bring your camera!

This trail is beginner friendly but please keep in mind that horse riding requires balance, fitness and stability.
